Yahoo Sports Radio and All Sports United Announce Media Partnership
— Partnership Kicks-Off with Inaugural Gaming to Give Athlete and Celebrity Charity Event —
Houston – December 11, 2014 – Yahoo Sports Radio and All Sports United, a platform for athletes, sports personalities, businesses and individuals to engage in philanthropic endeavors, announced today a media partnership to engage the sports fan community in this mission. Yahoo Sports Radio will be the title media partner in the organization’s effort to increase participation across the sports universe and to encourage fans to join their favorite athletes and celebrities in the charge. The partnership includes promotional support and listener engagement to raise funds during the inaugural Gaming to Give charity tournament, which kicks-off online during the first week of January and culminates with a star-studded event set to take place January 29th at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, Ariz., Thursday leading into the Super Bowl.
Craig Larson, Chief Operations Officer and Program Director of Yahoo Sports Radio, shared his excitement: “We are honored to be joining forces with All Sports United in support of their mission. Gaming to Give will be a fun-filled event, but more importantly, allow the sports and entertainment communities to come together to make an impact on the community and engage listeners in support of those important causes.”
All Sports United Co-Founder Alan Pavlosky echoes this sentiment: “All Sports United is thrilled to partner with Yahoo Sports Radio. Their track record of innovative delivery of thoughtful sports content speaks for itself. Gaming to Give is the first of many opportunities for All Sports United and Yahoo Sports Radio to help shine the light on athletes who are committed to making a difference.”
A co-production of All Sports United, Tiltify and Endless Possibilities Events, the fan-interactive Gaming to Give online video gaming tournament will feature celebrity participants competing with fans for video game supremacy while raising money for their charities of choice. The event will be streamed live via Twitch to an international gaming audience who will be encouraged to continue donating throughout the event.
Yahoo Sports Radio will bring participating athletes and celebrities to the airwaves to promote the events and their charities, in addition to acting as the platform for fans to connect with these participants. The sports network will also be live at the event, capturing insider interviews with attending athletes and celebrities, which include: Green Bay Packers Great Ahman Green, Singer Brian McKnight, New York Giants Punter Steve Weatherford, Olympic Gold Medalist Ed Moses, Detroit Lions Safety James Ihedigbo and many more.
